We had a major scare here today. I am proud of how Sean handled it. He probably saved his sister. The kids were at my parents house and were down at the shop with my dad. Dani was sitting on a tractor which was properly parked, engine off, parking brake engaged. She somehow knocked the tractor out of gear, and took the parking break off, no easy feat. She took the tractor for a drive, right into the side of the farm truck, a little over a hundred yards away. Somehow Sean managed to jump on the tractor with her and get it slowed down enough so it did not just push the truck out of the way. The truck is really small and this big tractor ordinarily would have just pushed it out of the way. The next stop if he had not have gotten on it would have been into the side of the chicken house. She was not hurt, just scared.
When the tractor started moving, naturally, she started screaming, so my dad came out of the shop, thinking big brother is tormenting little sister yelling at Sean, and then sees what is going on. Farm truck just has another dent from being hit, no worse for the wear, both kids are ok. Sean could have been run over trying to get on the tractor, but I don't think he realizes that. Needless to say, she is not allowed on the tractor without Sean or my dad any longer.
