Hi all - we're an xbox family, though we have the trifecta of gamign consoles, and my daughter really wants a DS. She's 4 but she is responsible with her stuff - mostly. Is 4 too young?

As long as she is good with her stuff then get it. There are many games for very young children on the ds. Of course you could try the leapster explorer(touch screen) as well.

My son is 4 and for his birthday he got a Nintendo DSi XL and for the most part he treats it really good and at night I always tell him to plug it in and he knows when the light turns red that he needs to charge it. The only current problem is that he will stop playing it for a little while and I have to remind him to turn it off when he is not playing it but other then that he is good with it. My answer would be no I don't think 4 is too young at all just look at the back of games when you get them since you will know if she will be able to do what the game wants her to do.
