I did my first official trail run today. The local park has three loops. I did the middle one which is 1.75 miles long. However, I'm counting it as 2 miles today because I missed a turn and ended up running through a corn field and up to a farm house before I realized I missed a turn!

It was really cool though. I ran up on a deer and was within arms length of it before it broke and ran. I scared a good few groundhogs and a hawk was following me and doing that funny scream they do all the way through the big field. Running in the woods was really nice though because it was shady most of the time and, besides a few cuts and scrapes from brush, the scenery was great!
Has anyone else tried trail running? What was your experience with it?
