I am thinking that I'd like to buy something for our new house when we get our tax refund. I hate our furniture because it doesn't match, and the slipcovers always slip. I also know that I would probably like a treadmill at some point in my life. So, which would you buy if you could only get one?

I would get the treadmill because furniture doesn't stay nice for very long anyway (especially when you have kids!). You could always look for a great deal and then buy some newer, nicer slipcovers!

Me personally (and I know I'm probably the oddball here) I'd hit up some second hand store for some nice mix and match furniture, and then pick up a treadmill too. We got a sofa bed (still had the plastic on the mattress) and three really nice recliners last year for around $250 by shopping second hand stores. (One recliner was a gift for FIL)

I'd get the treadmill. I love mine! I use it everyday. Plus I'm always saying that you can't put a price on your health.
But on the other hand, you entire family would benefit from the furniture, so that's a hard one.
Maybe you could find some good deals and get both! You could look on Craigslist for the treadmill. I bought mine used about 7 years ago for 250.00 and it's still going strong.

I'd get the furniture. As much as I would want the treadmill I would find myself being upset every time I got on my treadmill thinking I could have had nice furniture instead. I was going to suggest looking for a used treadmill as well too.

amy to be honest, since you have 3 little ones...i'd buy the treadmill and if you really want new'er couches...go on craigslist and find soem. I got my set for 250 bucks and they do the trick, i wont' dare let my LO's ruin my good furniture so i won't buy anything that i will be ticked off getting messed up. My used couches are still nice and you wouldn't know i bought them 'used'.

I would get the treadmill, like some of the ladies said, with kids alot of the time new nice stuff dosnt stay that way long, so look for some used that are nicer, craigslist is a great site to find them!
