I have been looking at the food and exercise logs the last few days since I've been back. I don't want to call anyone out, but I'm concerned about the lack of fruits and veggies, dairy, and whole grains in some diets. I know each person has her own way of doing things, but at least to me, the best way to lose the weight and keep it off is to eat healthfully all around and exercise. Maybe a few days a week or something, we should have a thread where we analyze our diets for the food groups. That might help some people make sure to get all the "right stuff." Does that sound possible?

I just want everyone to be healthy with their weight losses.

Well, I personally am trying to lose weight without changing my whole family's menu. My DH is a bit particular about food and I am not going to cook two different dishes for every meal just so I eat healthier. I try to add veggie side dishes where I can, drink more water and try not to eat total junk food but if we have hot dogs on the menu, then I eat a hot dog and chips, but I stay within the suggested serving size and don't eat too much.

So I try to eat healthier but I also try to keep my family happy and keep myself from going crazy. So if my daily food check-in doesn't look like a weight loss diet, then that's just how it is.

well Teresa was taking some food diaries and we were to give suggestions on how to make it healthier.

I agree though it is important to eat the right foods.

I definitely understand where u r coming from Erin...it's hard to accommodate yourself and your family. I just had to chalk it up and make something different. So my suggestion if you were to have a hot dog night is to add a salad to your plate even if DH or the LO's don't eat em. Luckily one of my Lo's loves salad. (i am just using u as an example cause you mentioned it lol)

Your so right, and I am extremely guilty of this. Thank you for calling it to my attention. I suppose counting calories is only one half of the nutrition mission, the other half is what makes up those 1500 calories or whatever you consume. I think I most def. need to re-analyze my diet. I am not really specific on the daily food log, because I rarely know what I am going to eat that day. I suppose I could plan out what i will eat and stick to it.

Why don't we bring back the food diary suggestions?

I'm guilty of not making the best decisions also.

I'm game if others want to. I'm not exactly sure how you did it before, but I could learn.

I actually loved when Teresa would do the Food Diary thingy.. you can call it whatever you want if you want to do it Amy (or if anyone else wants to do it)... but she would look over the daily food log and pick someone's log to could use a revamp or better suggestions... I know at first she was doing it everyday.. and pickin' someone different I believe... but then she just went to doing it weekly.

Either way.. you can do it how ever you want... but the idea is great.. and like i said .. I used to look forward to those posts.

So, Teresa just picked someone out randomly? Did people get upset if they were chosen? Maybe we should see who's interested in having their diets evaluated before actually doing it.

She picked randomly, but me alot. I haven't posted my food lately because I was down to the end of the month, running out of everything and my choices sucked! I went shopping yesterday so I'll be posting again. Feel free to tear into mine anytime. lol

She picked randomly and didn't always post the person's name unless she knew they were fine with being called out on it.

How about we pick one a week and do it from like a week or two before so that no one remembers whose it is? Then the only way anyone would whose it was would be if it was theres or they were really freaking nosey!!! LOL I'll go searching for one to do today.
