Hi Ladies,

I have alot of weight to loose and wanted to add more than just my treadmill. So, I was looking into medicine balls. Does anyone use them? How do you like them? What kind of excercise do you do with them?

TIA

I love medicine balls. I use them mostly for ab work, but I also have a dvd that uses the small 2 pound balls as weights. I've also used the small 2 pound balls for doing tai chi, but most people use an inflatable ball for that. I like the small balls for shoulder work because you can do functional movements like you would when throwing a ball so you can rehab a rotator cuff injury better with them then with traditional weights.

I love mine!! (stability ball)

I use it for crunches, "the bridge" and pushups. It's awesome. When I do crunches on the floor it never works out the lower part of my abs but when I do crunches on the stability ball it really gets to my lower abs! It's awesome. I've been working on it daily.

Medicine balls and a stability ball are two completely different things. The Stability ball is the blow up one that you can use as a weight bench, or bounce on for cardio. The medicine balls are weighted balls used for toning exercises. I love all my balls though!

lol couldn't help but get the crude humor out of that... I use the stability ball, and small hand weights. Never heard of medicine balls.

The medicine ball i'm lookin at is 6lbs. its kinda like a basketball but smaller and has weight to it. 6lbs is the smallest you can get locally.

I use to have a stability ball maybe I should get one of those to sit on while watching tv. Do they have a weight limit?

IDK on the weight limit. It would be listed on the box. geez I never even thought about that. I took mine to L&D and was using it for labour. NEver even considered the darn thing busting under me. That would of been bad.
