where you finally realized you needed to lose weight?I would say 3 for me...
1/ My dad finding out he has diabetis
2/ ppl asking me when the baby is due ( i carry all my weight in my stomach, everything else is skinny (except for the butt i guess I'm alright with that lol))
3/ I went into a bathroom stall and no lie, one leg was by the toilet paper dispenser and the other was by the other door. They seriously make those things for skinny minis! lol
My landlord asked if we were pregnant, and one of DH's 7 year old cousins started calling me fatty all the time. That and my 5th miscarriage finally got me to admit that my weight was probably an issue.
The biggest thing for me was realizing that I either had to buy new bigger clothes or lose weight. I'm glad to say that I no longer need bigger clothes as mine are now a little loose on me! The next time I buy new clothes it will be because I need smaller ones, not bigger! I realized this in November, but waited until Jan 2 to start dieting because I didn't want to feel like a failure during the holidays and just give up.
My cholesterol is high (and I know it comes down when I lose weight) and my DR put me on a statin and it gave me a terrible headache and body aches so he tried a different statin and it did the same thing so I realized I can not take them so I'll have to lose weight and exercise to bring my cholesterol down naturally (I am also taking some natural supplements to help that don't give me any side effects)
My DH had 3 stents put in his arteries over the summer. He is thin, active, had normal cholesterol, normal blood pressure, etc. It was a BIG shock to find out he was literally days from a heart attack. One of his arteries was 99% blocked. Needless to say we have needed to change our diet quite a bit since we didn't eat that bad before now we have very little meat and saturated fat in our diet.
I am tired all the time and I don't want to be. My DH who is 11 years older than me has a ton more energy than I do and my kids have a ton more than him. I'm always the one who says can we just sit here? I don't want to be that person any more.
