So, I'm reading ahead to start preparing for class for next week and read the Adequate Intake numbers for Water and got to thinking that we are probably all a bit short. So, I thought I'd challenge everyone to try and get their numbers up today. The AI for Men is 3.7 liters and for Women is 2.7 liters. The standard US cup is 237 ml so if you multiply that by the standard 8 cups, that is only 1896 ml or 1.896 L. Thats almost a liter short of adequate intake! So, doing the math and dividing the AI of 2.7 L by 237 ml, I get that we should actually drink 11.4 US cups of water daily, ladies! Thats about 91 ounces of water daily. Oh, and these numbers do not include any water lost from exercise or sweating in this horrible summer heat. So, are you getting anywhere near that? I know that most people on average don't get the standard 64 ounces, so lets aim for that at first or up to 100 ounces if you are already drinking the standard 64. Log here how much you get today.

I got at least 100 oz. I average 96 oz/day. My suggestion to everyone is to get a big water bottle (mine are all 32 oz) and just keep refilling it several times per day. I fill mine at least 3x/day.
