We have Halloween, then Christmas, then Valentine's Day, then Easter... LOTS of candy in the stores for months! Gee, maybe that contributes to the typical "winter weight gain" so many of us experience. (I can see why it's tempting to blame human evolution instead of chocolate.)

Do you get tempted by holiday treats?

If you receive candy as a gift, how do you deal with it?

The only thing I'm tempted by is DH's grandmother's fudge. She gives us a huge box of it every Christmas and I eat it like mad, but then I make DH take the rest of it to work so I am no longer tempted.

if I get any sort of sweets, DH will usually eat it. I'm not a huge sweet eater and DH loves them so he usually takes care of it for me.

We don't do gifts for adults for those things (or anything really), so I don't personally receive any. And, since I only have 1 child, and keep the sweets to a minimum for him, it's usually gone in a couple of days. I only get some small heart with like 4-6 chocolate bites in it for V-day and then keep anything else to something small, but non edible, like a drawing pad as he loves to draw. We really don't do candy much, and when we do, I keep ti reasonable, so it's all gone in 2-3 days.

The kids get a ton of candy from family members. I have it in a bucket hidden where we won't be tempted by it. I'm pretty good about only having a piece or 2 of chocolate...If I stick to 1-2 chocolates per day I don't write it down, but any more than that and I make myself accountable.

We never buy candy, but neighbors and friends tend to give us tons. I admire ya'll that have better self control, I simply can't have it in the house. After everybody has a reasonable share, I have to toss whatever is left or I will eat myself sick. It's wasteful, and I wish I wasn't that way, but since I know I am... throwing extras away is the best thing for me to do.

Sugar tempts me, always. I have a snack drawer near my laptop by my desk that is full of candy to get me through hours on the computer doing student and teacher work. I love candy.
