which do you normally do when you work your abs?

I do both. I was just doing different types of crunches but dh does sit ups so I wanted to see how many I could do. That's kind of how it started but now I usually do sit ups at the end of my ab workout. I know they are old-school and I'm not even sure if I should be doing them, but I do them. I should look into this more. LOl. The only thing that I really don't like about sit ups is that I keep getting bruising on my tailbone from them. I remember having this problem in my younger days. I think I just need a floor mat or something but it's been bugging me.

I do crunches. I will sometimes end up with a small bruise about my tail bone even doing those and having a mat. I think it is from the seam in my pants getting sandwiched between my tail bone and the mat and getting the extra pressure put on it.

I'm a plank girl. I find that planks are the best thing to help tone my belly and have really helped since having my last child. You should check out Horizontal Conditioning. she has some great workouts that are all plank based and have been the best thing ever for my abs. here is her site Horizontal Conditioning : Home. She is also on facebook and will answer any questions. I think Sandra is great. Her getting started DVDS are the best to start with because they seem to be easier. but I do one of her dvds atleast once each week.

Interesting. I think I have done ONE plank. LOL. I did some challenge on this Facebook page I like and it called for doing a 40 second plank. LOL. I will have to look into this more. I may add this to my routine in the near future. I'm kind of trying to stick with what I'm doing until I reach my 12 week goal and then I am going to change it up and try to make a new 12 week goal.

It is a great idea to change it up every 12 weeks. I know for me my body gets used to doing one thing and I have to change it up to continue to see results.
