My abs need a lot of work since my csection. What are some exercises to help me tone my stomach? I'm doing crunches. Will that be enough? What are some work outs that work for you?

Not sure how long it has been for you, but make sure to check with your doc first. It was over 6 months before I was cleared for any ab workouts after my c-section.

Once I was cleared, I did crunches, healthy eating, and normal exercise. You may always have a little "pooch" there, but it does get better as the years go by.

I had my section a long time ago but it still bothers me! Every since I had it, there's been this little bit of flab that hangs over my scar that just never goes away. Also, my stomach muscles were just weaker. When I would lean over you could see all my tummy skin sag. It looked gross and like I was an elderly lady.

Well, here is my good news. Over the last 6 weeks I can tell a huge difference in my tummy. You probably can't see it in my pictures, but I can tell and I can feel it. My skin is tighter and my tummy feels much firmer, not like a squishy feeling belly. The little bit of fat over my scar is hardly noticeable now. I still need to do some work, but it is a whole lot better and this has just happened in the last few weeks.

Here's what I'm doing.
I do weighted crunches, sort of like these but I use a dumbbell.

And I do oblique crunches with a dumbbell. I can't find a picture using weights.

I do reverse crunches

and I do Russian twists (I don't do them exactly like this but it's the best picture I could find.

I also do sit ups but I haven't made up my mind whether I think they are actually helping me. I really don't do that much for abs. I think the results I am seeing probably has more to do with the cardio I've been doing than the ab work. Well, I think they are both helping but I definitely have less flab on my belly than I used to have.

I am going to learn about planks next. I've been doing some planks at night but I really don't know what I'm doing with them yet.

Crunches are good but you will probably get the best results from switching up routines, or even just doing different variations of crunches like Patty suggested.

Great ideas! I did pilates and also used an exercise ball and it made a huge difference.

I had my csection nearly 15 months ago. My OB cleared me for normal activity just months afterward. He told me I healed very fast. He was very surprised I could sit up under my own power just 3 weeks pp during my check up.

Thanks so much for the suggestions everyone! I'm not expecting to look like I did when I was 19. I just want to look better than I do now and to lose as many pant sizes as is possible for me.
