Skin care, kind of related to weightloss and fitness... can't show off those toned arms and legs if your skin is a wreck, LOL!

What kind of skin problems do you notice through the winter? What products do you use to take care of your skin? Do you ever try home made concoctions?

I have eczema and the change in seasons makes it worse. I have one cream from Avon that really helps (even more so than prescriptions I've tried) and recently I've found that Coconut Oil helps a lot too!

Extremely dry cracked skin. The air here is very dry. I just use a variety of different lotions - some work some times and not others so I just rotate them. We also run a humidifier in the house.

I also start to notice really dry skin this time of year, especially my hands. And I have these weird little red bumps on my legs that look like razor burn. Can't be, though, because DH has been out of town more than a month, no way I'm reaching around the belly to shave for no reason, LOL! I'm a big fan of using coconut oil... I've been out for a long time now and keep forgetting to buy more.

Hmm... it's possible. I never noticed it until this winter, so I thought maybe it's another wonderful pregnancy side effect. But if it lingers or comes back next winter I'll remember to look further into that. Doesn't seem like there's really much treatment available, anyway. Thanks for the tip!

the coconut oil you're using will work wonders, but you gotta exfoliate exfoliate exfoliate! my husband makes me home made sugar scrubs with coconut oil and a touch of honey and lavender oil. it will definitely help, just because KP isn't curable doesn't mean it cant be kept at bay! i have also discovered borage therapy lotion which is amazing. i have KP on my upper arms, btw.

Yep, I've had this most of my life and it took 20 years and countless dermatologists to diagnose it. In fact, It ook my SON for a skin issue, they diagnosed him, and she (a pediatric derm) took one look at me and said, oh you have it too, that's where he got it (it's genetic). I wasn't even there for me! LoL. I hate it, I have it on my arms and my legs both, but LOTS of moisturizing and exfoliating does help.

No, there is really no treatment for KP even if that's what you have. Lots of exfoliating and moisturizing is about all you can do.

I mix a bit of sugar into plain yogurt for an exfoliant. The lactic acid in the yogurt is good for skin, too. I just love smearing my skin with stuff good enough to eat!
