When do you buy new clothes?

I think I am going to need to buy some new clothes. I have gained about 10 lbs since last summer and 4 lbs in the last month or so. I have several jeans that have gotten so tight I just can't wear them comfortably anymore. So I want to buy some more clothes. I'm just not sure if I should wait a little longer to see if I gain anymore weight or just buy some now. When I lose weight I normally wait until I'm down a couple sizes and just wear a belt for a while, but when things are tight you kind of have to buy more. I think I am going to buy some more summer clothes and just wait till winter on the jeans. By then I think that I will be done with any weight gaining and be a little more settled on what size I need.

When they're getting too small, that's definitely harder! Once I couldn't sit comfortably, that's when I'd buy something, but I wouldn't buy a new wardrobe, just key pieces here or there that I found on sale.

I usually buy new clothes when I lost weight in the past as a reward.
Right before I started this job I had to buy a bunch of new clothes dress pants and such because we are only allowed to wear jeans on fridays which is why I have been trying not to buy anything new.

I do the reward thing too but I feel really weird about making rewards for gaining weight. I may not want to gain anymore. I was just getting too thin looking and wanted to look more muscular. So I think I may make myself a new 12 week goal (which I'm doing anyway) and reward myself at the end with a shopping trip. I'm probably going to get summer clothes anyway though because some of my shorts from last year feel snug.

If something is getting snug to the point it is almost uncomfortable, then I will by the next size up. I like your idea of rewarding yourself for sticking to your 12 week goal.

I buy almost all my clothes at the thrift store, so whenever we are there I just look and see what they have that fits and I like. I do keep a couple pairs of "goal" jeans, but they are put away where I can't even see them, LOL! If I make my goal weight/size by next summer I will definitely buy a few new things, but really... my lifestyle just doesn't require nice clothes.

When I absolutely have to, but I think that's more because I'm cheap than because I'm in denial I really need to buy some new clothes soon though, nothing will stay up!

My lifestyle doesn't require nice clothes either. LOL. But I still like to have jeans that are nice. I wear them a lot so I don't feel like they are a waste of money. We do Goodwill a lot and that's where I get a lot of my clothes but I still like to get new stuff now and then.

I should buy new jeans because the ones I have are really tight in the waist. But I've been really working hard and I'm starting to notice a little difference in my waist. So I think I'll be ok by the end of the summer, hopefully. I did buy a couple new pairs of running shorts because I'm fairly positive the pair I had will be just a little too small with the extra weigth i've been carrying. It's so frustrating.
