Was there a breaking point or a wake up call that made you decide that made you decide to get serious about weight loss/fitness? What was it?

My "breaking point" was probably a year and a half after having #1. I gained nearly 60lbs with her, on top of already being 15-20lbs over where I wanted to be. In the first year after giving birth, I'd only lost about 35lbs, and I still felt terrible about the way I looked and felt. I was in a dressing room trying on clothes, and I hated the way I looked, both in and out of clothes. Soon after that I started working out again, and eating better. I found MFP and started using it daily, and finally got serious about it.

I'd say it was my age. I've had this little bucket list in my head since I turned 39 of all the things I wanted to do before I turned 40. I think I just feel like it's now or never and I want to give it all I've got. I don't think I am going to be exactly where I envisioned myself at 40 but I definitely am in better shape than I was.

I think it is just the eye opener that my "baby" is 6 and I haven't lost the 'baby' weight. ..It's got to be done, now.

When DH would call me "pleasantly plump". And, when I started looking at pics and thinking how overweight I looked.

4th miscarriage with DH. I put my foot down, made a doctors appointment, got the meds I needed. 15lbs gone since April, more to come and hopefully no more miscarriages.

I've tried working on my weight for years without a lot of success.
I think my tipping point really was after I got pregnant. I had issues with my BP (pre-existin not pregnancy induced) and I had already been diagnosed as insulin resistant prepregnancy. Having a baby was really my wake-up call that I wanted to get healthy so I could be around a long time for her.

Seeing my weight start with a 2 on the scale while pregnant. My pre-pregnancy weight was 180, but I had just quit smoking and that was 25lbs...I kept telling myself that I can get the weight off, focus on staying quit. And then I watched my weight creep up and up and up. I hope for #2 I don't see my weight start with a 2!

My wake up call came in two parts. Part one was hitting 250 while I was pregnant with Mary. Part Two was while I was in labor with her and I really thought I was going to die because I was too heavy and weak.

The first time around, my exDH and I had just split up and I decided that I wanted to be fit, exercise was more a time-filler for me back then. Then I let it all come back on, and then some. I swore that I wouldn't hit 200 while pregnant with #4 and two days before I had her I was 199.2 After having Hannah I was looking at some pictures of my oldest's third birthday party, when I was at my lowest weight, and realized how much I had gained since then. That was my breaking point this time.
