What do you think about this? Do you think it's okay to work out twice in one day?

I'm thinking about trying this. I already do my elliptical separate from my strength training but I think I am going to make my new routine so I workout with dh during one workout and workout by myself in another. And try to make the first workout short and cover all the lifts that I need his help with and make the second one either longer or the same length and do exercises I can do myself or work on doing a high rep/lower weight routine. Also, this way if dh wants to he can do the second workout he can but he can skip out if he doesn't want to. I think this may work better for us.

Definitely but I wouldn't go hard core on both workouts. I will do this sometime when I don't have a full hour in the mornings to work out. I will do between 30 and 45 minutes of cardio in the morning then after the boys go to bed I will do around 30 minutes of weight training. although for me I find I am more likely to workout if it's first thing in then morning and I get it all done. If I wait to finish it up later in the day, things always seem to come up that prevent me from doing it.

That's kind of what I'm thinking. I want to do the harder/heavier workout with dh and then do a lighter weight circuit training later by myself. I also want to try to mix up the heavier workout so that that I'm not doing exercises I need help with every workout. So this way if he wants to skip working out altogether it doesn't mess me up.

I think that is a great plan. I think you definitely need to be able to do workouts by yourself so when your DH doesn't want to work out you can do it without him. I would be waiting a very long time if I waited on DH to workout with me seeing as he never works out..lol. Atleast your DH is doing something.

I think is a good plan! I sometimes run in the morning, do a video in the afternoon, and then do my challenges and other strength training in the evening.

Splitting up your workout is fine, just make sure not to overwork yourself! My DH and I do Insanity together but on days when he is not feeling up for it I will do a walk or run and strength traiin. Sometimes I end up doing both workouts and just watch my pace and listen to my body.

That sounds like a great plan for you Patty.

I did this previously, like 30DS in the morning, treadmill or walk the dog in the afternoon. It is good, but more like a 1-2 times a week thing for me.

I have also done this on occasion, like I would do my run and then later in the day do some yoga. Be sensible about eating enough and not overdoing it, and I think it sounds like this might help!

So I have managed to get a whole bunch of exercises written down and organized by muscle group but that's as far as I've gotten. LOL. This is taking me a while to plan and organize. I hope I can get my plan together soon.
