Do you think you take enough rest days? How many rest days do you take a week and how do you decide which days to take off?

I am doing things a little different this time. My workout is divided up by chest, shoulders and triceps, then legs, then back and biceps. So by the time I get back to chest/shoulder/triceps they have had two days off. I think I'm going to like this system better because I will get more rest/recovery days per muscle group but I can still workout 6 days a week. Since I'm trying to do a lot of lifting this time around I think getting two days off per muscle group will be better.

Usually I take one rest day a week, but sometimes I'll stretch or walk with the kids or something easy like that and call it "active recovery".

Usually Saturday and Sunday...but I'll go for a walk on at least one of those days, just not a structured organized workout on the weekend.

I try and do something at least every day but that didn't work too well. I try and do about 1 rest day a week and that is usually Sunday because I just have the time between Church in the morning and usually a friends house in the evening.

I plan for rest days. When I was consistently losing weight, I worked out 3 times a week...Tues, Thurs, Sat, most of the time, and occasionally a walk on Sun or Mon. Right now I'm aiming for 4 workouts per week, however I can fit them in.

I don't take consistent days because a lot of times when I planned 1 rest day/week, something would come up and I'd end up having to take off another day too. So now, I just roll with it and take off whatever day I have to as a rest day.

Lately I've been taking way too many rest days..lol. My goal is to only take 2 rest days each week which are Saturday and Sunday. I workout early morning Monday thru Friday so I like to get a bit of shut eye on the weekends and when I do get up, I'm way too busy with the kids to workout. Although we are usually doing something active on the weekends like swimming or playing outside with the kids so I'm not completely sedentary on the weekends.

This is me too! I aim for only taking 1 rest day a week (whichever day it ends up being) but lately have ended up with more rest days than expected.
