Making it a priority. I tend to find other things that "have to" be done first when in actuality I could do my workout first and then I would have all the time in the world to exercise.

Food portions. I had no real concept of them and was definitely eating far to big portions for my activity level.

When I first started, chronic pain (lower back and sciatica) was a daily challenge. Convincing myself to work out when it hurt to do anything other than lie down was hard.

Second challenge was the children- six of them at the time and always underfoot and needing something the second I laced up my shoes, LOL! With time they got trained to leave me alone during my exercise time. It helps having older ones to keep an eye on things!
