I recently found out I have PCOS which answers alot of questions I have had for the longest time. One thing my RE suggested was a LOW GI DIET but did not really go into detail. I tried looking online for some great recipes but alot of things I would think would not be LOW GI are in the meal plans... a lot of starches like breads and potatoes... Do any of you follow this kind of diet and if so do you have any recipes or meal plans that have worked well with your PCOS and dieting? Thanks in advance

Hi. Welcome to the board!

Do you mean low glycemic index? I don't exactly follow a low GI diet but I am eating a low carb diet right now and I try to make most of my veggies and fruits low GI but I just started this. I think people with PCOS have problems with insulin resistance and I would think this would help with that. I just don't know enough about PCOS or low gi diets to really answer your question.

When I was looking around I saw something about an insulin resistance diet. You might want to look into that too. I imagine it uses low gi foods as well.

I think there were some other posts to this before the board crashed yesterday. Hopefully you'll get some more replies.

Yeah I had posted a reply and then JM ate it I think.

I'm on a low carb diet and a lot of ladies on another forum I'm on for it have PCOS and have had great sucess with it because it controls your insulin levels. I posted a whole bunch of info for Patty the other day. Maybe check that out. http://www.justmommies.com/forums/f3...brain-lol.html (April (Aenyx) can I borrow your brain lol)

I'm worried about needing a diet like this too... I am honestly not sure if I could do it until they can resolve my reflux next year
