Do you think tred mills really help you out? I mean, my mom says"If you want to lose weight, drink lots of water and go walking every night." Well, I like walking, but not around this town. It kinda scares me, so I was thinking of investing in a tred mill.

I think that a treadmill can be a good investment. You have to stay motivated to use one though. We have a lot of dogs that run loose where I live, and I get kind of scared when they come up to the road and bark at us.
I would suggest that you don't buy a really cheap one though, go for at least a mid-range priced model.

April, a good treadmill can be very effective, especially for when you can't go around the neighborhood. Anything to keep us moving!
Good luck!

I have a treadmill that has the shock resistant and I love it. I use it on average 3-4 times per week. But like the other said..you really have to be motivated to use it.
