Have you been able to pinpoint certain foods or events that are triggers for bad eating/not exercising for you? I have definitely found that there are certain foods that I just cannot eat because they are triggers for me. I can't even have one bite or it will trigger a binge. I feel like I am getting somewhere knowing my triggers and avoiding them. For example I can eat the 100 calorie chips ahoy and oreo snack packs without a problem, but I know the candy type ones like the reeses peanutbutter cups I couldn't eat them not even one bite without it causing a binge. I don't feel deprived not having it since I am eating other sweet alternatives, but knowing what foods are triggers for me and avoiding them has really helped me. I was just thinking it might be helpful to others to start noting these things in their food journals when they notice something is a trigger for them.

Yes!! They have this big bad of pretzles at school, and I used to buy them all the time and tell myself ok I am going to have on serving and eat the rest later, year right- I'd inhale the whole bag. Anything that isn't "good" and I try and sneak a bite in too. Like if there are french friens and I take one telling myself oh this isn't a big deal, I'll take another, and another, until I eat the whole plate.

Very interesting! You know...I probably used to have triggers, but I can't think of any right now. They always prevented me from losing weight before, but I am finding that I'm more in control right now. I could probably resist anything. Although, I am thinking of this one particular burger that I just couldn't have one bite of! LOL

No, I don't really have food triggers. Even eating junky stuff, I stop at one serving. My DH says I'm the only person he's ever seen be able to open a small (candy bar sized) bag of M&M's and eat 3 or 4 and leave the rest. I guess I'm lucky that way. He's my trigger though. He doesn't like healthy food and will push until he gets junk, which means we all eat junk. Usually, that isn't a big deal, but when I can't do the cooking it is a major problem for me.

I think anything sweet is a trigger for me. Day before yesterday my oldest wanted to make brownies... I managed to have one small one, but I ended up letting the kids have two each because I knew if they didn't finish off the pan *I* would. My only solution is to buy one-portion packages or make half-size batches to share w/ the children. But even like those 100-calorie packs, I won't buy a box of those. I KNOW if I open one, I'll open another and another till the box is gone.

Yes totally, I have to stay away from Oreo cookies, & potato chips. I know if I eat either one of those, I cant stop & therefore the whole bag is gone. So I dont even buy that stuff.
Also, I've noticed I'm getting better at not drinking soda

That's great, Dina! I've been working on giving up the stuff myself, especially since the first of the year. Last time I broke down and bought a can of Dr. Pepper I couldn't drink but half of it... it was so sweet I felt sick to my stomach!
