What kinds of lower fat substitutions do you make?

i.e. If you wanted chips and dip, you eat baked chips with light dip instead.

Hum, I drink diet soda and I eat pretzel alot to combat my chip cravings. When I want something sweet I will eat a couple of sweet tarts instead of something alot worse.

I've started to get better at substituting things, I bought fat free sour cream & fat free ranch dip mix & I use that for sour cream or dressing, I also bought fat free Italian dressing, I try to buy reduced fat cheese, and I love Sun Chips wich are lower in calories than reg. chips. I do LOVE the baked bbq lays. I also switched from Diet Pepsi to Diet Rite (no caffiene).

Sugar free syrup for syrup, egg beaters for eggs. I buy this 5 calorie Promise spread and I just started using I can't Believe It's not Butter 0 calorie spray. It's pretty good. I use Splenda all the time and fat free creamer for my coffee. All of those have been easy substitutions and I honestly can't tell the difference. Oh, also I use some vegetarian products too now and then.

I buy reduced fat or fat free almost everything. On my birthday when I wanted nachos, I used 2% Velveeta, lean ground beef, baked Tostitos, and then some veggies. It was really good and satisfied my craving. Oh, a couple of months ago, I really wanted artichoke dip, so I made my own lowfat version with lowfat plain yogurt. It was good!

I do low fat or fat free on most things; dressing, mayo, cheese, sour cream, milk, etc. For crackers, I'll do whole wheat or reduced fat, depending on what they have at the store when I go. For chips, I only do the baked and I'll make my own dips with fat free sour cream and fat free mayo as the base and then add in my own seasonings. For my sweet tooth, I'll buy In Stone Nutrition's High Protein Pudding so I can fill those chocolate cravings without wrecking things. I do allow myself two things though that aren't healthy; Regular Pepsi and Blue Bell Ice Cream. But I limit my intake to a single serving per day.
