My hubby and I are starting to work out finally after many years of saying we will and then we dont The thing is the only time we have to consistantly work out is around 9pm every night after our kids go to bed. With our scheduals and with three small kids at home during the day we'd have to wake up at 430 in the morning and its just not something we'd like to do if we dont have have to. So my question is is a workout at 9pm worth it? Will we see just as good results as we would if we worked out in the morning? Sorry if this is a duh question I just have no clue about this stuff lol Thanks!

I was only excercising in the afternoons for a long time, and just recently I started excericising throughout the day. I work out 30-45 minutes in the afternoon (aroudn 12ish), then a 15 minute power walk w/coworkers at about 3:30, and then in the evening after 8pm, when my 2 year old is in bed, I pop in a WATP video, and walk another 15 minutes/1 mile. I've noticed a difference in my endurance, and its great. Saying that, I'm sure a 9pm workout is just as good as if you worked out in the AM, but I'm not an expert.

Calories burned are calories burned, no matter if they are at 8 AM, 4 PM or 2 AM. If that is the time when YOU can workout--do it then! I work out at 6AM at the gym, becuase this is the only time I can (I have a child who will NOT fall asleep without me in bed, so I just go to bed with her) and I have class/work all day or I have her, so I get up at 5:15, and am working out by 6- but that works for me- doesn't have to work for you!

Well, I am an expert, (That's why I have all those certificates on the wall! LOL) and I can say that is doesn't matter what time of day you workout as long as you are exercising. It also doesn't matter what time of day you are eating, because you aren't burning the food you just consumed for your exercise anyway. It all has to be processed before it can be converted to fuel and whenever you workout, you are burning the stored fuel in your body.

I definitely think they're okay, just like others said. I tend to wake up before work to exercise and sometimes do it at night also or instead.
