Doug went to the feed store to get some more feed for Lucy (sheep) and Priscilla (pig). He came home with feed and 5 baby chicks. We already have chickens, but I guess he didn't think we had enough. I think he's hoping he got a rooster so that we can have babies running around. We have the chicks in the house under the lamp. They are chirping away. We tried to give them to the Momma Hen outside but she wasn't interested. I guess I'll be the Momma for a couple of weeks. They are really cute though and the boys are in love. Eathan says we need a calf and a rabbit and our farm will be complete. I think we're running out of yard. Anywho, that's the latest additions to our family. These boys of mine.

We haven't had any problems with our chicks *knocks on wood* so far. We had a couple of our chickens run away, which I hear is fairly odd, but so far our chicks were low maintenance. It's just getting used to their chirping. Then I miss it when they make their journey outdoors.

Aw, I didn't know you had animals! We have a farm but we are NOT animal people (we could hardly stand having a dog). Enjoy your chicks though!

Yes, we are at our limit for animals though. I'm a country girl! I grew up on a dairy farm and raised show steers and hogs. My Bio Dad is a farmer. His main crop is strawberries. We couldn't go without any animals.

Aww... My DH would never bring home an animal. It took to weeks to convince him to let me get a dog that wouldn't get any bigger then a shoebox. Turns out the dog was a min-pin/boxer mix so he got a lot bigger (his back is to my knee) but Dh already fell in love with him heehee.

How are your boys liking your new chicks?

They are in love. They know which ones are theirs and they are so cute when they talk to them. Eathan is a really good pet owner. He's very good about making sure they have their food and water and love. When we leave to go somewhere he stops us and tells us he has to go and say bye to all of his anmials. He runs to the back door and hollars at Priscilla and Lucy and tells the chicks bye. He's something else. He just has a big heart for his babies.

How fun! What a great place for kids to grow up. We don't have any pets yet.

AWWWWWWWWWWWW! Now why didn't we swing by and visit your fur babies when we were in the neck of the woods?

We are animal people too!
