Babybird has a terrible case of Croup and was in and out of the hospital a few times this week. I took him to his Dr. on Thursday who had to call 911 as soon as we got in the office because the baby was having so much trouble breathing. He was rushed to the hospital and stayed in the ER for a few hours. Then we had to rush him back to the ER again the next day and when he wasn't improving, they decided to admit him. We are home now and he is a little better, but not over the hump yet. I am hoping he does well tonight and doesn't have any major incidents.

If you don't mind saying a prayer for him that he can get through tonight without any trouble I would appreciate it. My other kids have had croup several times over the years, but nothing as serious as this so it is freaking me out a little. There aren't many things scarier than your baby not being able to breathe.
My 3 yr old has started having Croup symptoms now too, but hers doesn't seem as serious so far, so hopefully it will stay that way and everyone will be back to normal soon.

Thanks. :-)

I sure will. Fritz has ended up in the ER all too often with croup. This is his third winter and things are much better with only one time wondering if he should go in or not. I hate croup.

I dont think the older ones usually get croup as badly, but hoping your little one is better soon. I'm sure you already know this, but I thought I'd post it anyway: Have you tried steam? It really is the best thing for croup or whooping cough - I should know I had whooping cough 2 years ago. If you have one of those steam things you put medications likes vicks in its brilliant. Otherwise hold him in the bathroom with the hot water going, or in the kitchen with all 4 burners going with pots of water. If you happen to live where there are eucalyptus trees you can get the seeds off them and throw them in the pot too.
Good luck.

He has finally turned the corner and is doing better now. Thank Goodness! My 3 yr old is starting to feel better now too. My 10 year old is starting to feel sick now, but thats the way it goes right?
I am still trying to catch up on lost sleep and housework. That is my goal for this week!
Thanks everyone for the well wishes.
