I don't know if it is or not, but I assume it's similar. Gosh, I wish I could really try it out and see! I used to play the game & loved it! I'm really wanting to do certain "extras" with Jack (typing, geography, music, cooking) but don't really want to focus on it being just another subject to try to fit into the day. I'm thinking if I can find these things as games it would encourage him to "learn" on his own & not feel like he has a ton of school work. I already have a fun typing game that he loves! We cook together alot. I'm hoping to get my niece to give him guitar lessons. I just have to find something for geography. I may go ahead and order it. I have to get Justin's LLATL blue student book anyway, so I may as well, right?

We just downloaded Where in the World is Carmen San Diego? the other day for Talen. I think DH found the old game somewhere for free. Will ask him later.

Ooh! Ooh! I want to know if you find it!

I haven't used C.S. since I was a kid, but I know my mom uses it in her adult ed classes (she's a GED teacher).

I used to play the game as a kid (on an old Commodore), and watched the show too. I think it would probably be useful in some form or another.

That would be great if you could link to where he found it for free. We did/are doing geography this year and that would be great as a review!! I loved this game as a child:)

DH said he found it as abandonware. I am not sure the exact site he used though. I typed "Abandonware Where in the World is Carmen San Diego" into my browser and it popped up quite a few sites.

And Heather this was a HUGE public school thing in the 80's for elementary kids. That may be why you haven't seen it. Another one is "The Oregon Trail". I never played that one but lots of PS kids did in the 80's during computer lab time.

Oh, I've heard of it. I've just never played it. I went to pubic elementary school (which was in the 80s). I used to LOVE Oregon Trail. We didn't play Carmen Sandiego in my school. We always played Oregon Trail. I had a friend who had a Carmen Sandiego computer game when I was little, but we never played it because she said it was really boring lol
