We are also facing possible lay-offs (again), but....

We have a home and land, have a garden to eat from, have food in the deep-freeze, getting close to the end of the school year, have the money put back for next school year, have eachother:)

Thanks Alison!!! I too get bogged down with the bad (I tend to be pessimistic), it is really good to focus on the good:)

The good here is that Jack's diabetes is under reasonably good control. We're finally getting him to where he has most of his blood sugar readings in the normal range with few highs.

We're finally (after 10 years!) starting to redo some of the house. We're taking this week to pull up nasty carpet & hopefully this weekend we'll be able to buy & install some kind of different flooring. Still have to decide what we want.

Jacky's new job is working out pretty well. He's been on regular days (M-F 7-3:30) since starting in March, but will soon go to shift. Even that's good news because it was going to be a (3) 8hr rotations with very few days off. We were NOT liking that at all because we would never see him or be able to do anything as a family. But they were able to vote on it & it changed to (2) 12 hour rotations with 3, 4, & 7 days between rotations (one rotation will only be 1 day off between). So, even though he has to go on shift, we're glad it's going to be the 12 hour rotation. That's the same rotation he had at his old job, so we're used to it. In fact, Jacky said the other day that he'll be glad when he goes back on shift so things can get back to "normal."

And, of course, we're all healthy and happy.

hey I was gonna say good weather! I've been loving the warmer, sunnier days.

Good news for us is I have a job interview on Thursday and it sounded on the phone like she plans on giving me the job. I'm super nervous and leery about going back to work but we need the money badly!

I am always grateful for our good health! To me that is the most important thing!

Cameron's reading is improving and Ani is absolutely loving school. Jamie's job is secure since he's government and he's well-paid and because of that we can move in with my parents to help them out.

We are all healthy, we have our budget on track, we are doing things that need to be done at the house. The kids are learning and doing well in school, dh still has a job and it seems totally secure (for now anyway). We have a large home, curriculum for next year, two nice vehicles. We are blessed and I do my best to thank God for the good we have each day. Sure, things could always be better, but I try to never forget how very blessed we are.

We've learned to appreciate the simpler things in life and to really treasure when we get to indulge ourselves..things like dinner out or a movie have truly become special treats !

I've found that having one car isn't as bad as I thought and we're saving money on gas and insurance.

Being on a tighter budget and having to cook everything at home has helped me become a better cook and I'm quickly racking up a recipe box full of recipes that I'm actually really good at. I can't believe how little we can spend on groceries without compromising on quality or health. We can't believe it took us so long to finally discover buying in bulk/freezing and the local farmer's market!

Dh's business is growing (slowly but steadily). He's happier than he ever was when he was in retail and is feeling really great about building a business for himself.

We're LOVING Sonlight! I'm really, really hoping this curriculum is "the one". Sam is officially a 3rd grader and is thriving with homeschooling!

I brought in the first batch of lilacs from my backyard this afternoon!

Sam is burning up the local chess tournament circuit..lol. He's officially rated 65th for his age group for the whole nation! I'm so proud of him and excited that he's found his "passion"

I love good news.

David turned 7 today and gramma and auntie gave him the birthday of his dreams (Disneyland) and gave all of us Anunual passes. Plus he got the science kit he's been begging for. He's in Heaven and it was so nice to see a genuine smile on his face and in his eyes, the worry was GONE (first time in a long time).

Melanie's bloodwork came back NORMAL. Considering just 2 weeks ago they were testing her glucose and her thyroid, I am very pleased to hear both in normal range.

Joey's health has improved so much in 4 months, and I have no reaosn to believe that this will change. I see hope and LIFE in him again.

DH has a stable job that he loves. Even the kids love his job because they get to see airplanes.

This was a great idea Alison! I have really enjoyed reading what everyone is thankful for and the good things we all have going on! You are right, we all have good and it is better to focus on the positive. This is a very uplifting thread!

Congrats Heather! The first year is usually the toughest since you're trying to get used to doing school together and so much more! But you're over that hump now! YAY! I hope next year is even easier for you!

Well, my daughter is REALLY REALLY good at being 2 1/2. haha Oh, and she's GREAT for other people!

But seriously...

My husband has a good job and is continually moving up the ladder. He is about to take his CCNA test this weekend (nerdy computer stuff).

My family is generally healthy other than the current sinus issues ravaging us.

I'm pregnant after 3 losses and things are going great so far!

I know there is more but the sinus medication is kicking in. I should go before I embarrass myself in some way.

Good luck to your husband! Jamie got his CCNA, um, 3 years ago? I think.

Good things...I don't know if I can!

I only have 4 more days to go until this fishing line comes out of my belly!

I can start making that baby with my man maybe as soon as July *if* we are stable in a new job and the bills are caught up.

We have our house and not a bill due on it for a wee bit.

I have enough money to pay the bills we do have to pay.

Matthew has had a few job interviews, one while I was cracked out after surgery.

I have the sweetest pets ever!

My kids love me and they have everything they need.

I have a good man...that really makes it all good.

My mom may be coming for a visit, she paid off her truck and has a job she loves now.

Okay...that is all I can muster!
