For Mother's Day this year, I am going to see my MOTHER. I know that probably sounds silly, but I hardly ever get to see her. So, for Mother's Day, I asked dh to take the kids and I to visit my mom. He agreed. So we are going on Mother's Day to see her and then out to lunch/dinner. She is tickled since she hasn't seen us since Christmas.

What are you ladies doing for Mother's Day? Have you asked for anything special (if we had stayed home, I wanted Dan to cook me dinner and to just have a relaxing day here with the kids).

I didn't even realize it was Mother's Day this coming weekend until yesterday. lol My sister called and we were talking about a family email that went out about going to our grandmother's the day before Mother's Day. My sister was like "That's THIS Saturday!" I had no clue. She was planning an all day shopping trip with her girls and then maybe go see a show that evening. I don't know what they're doing now. lol

As for me, I'll be spending Saturday morning at soccer games, Saturday afternoon at my grandmother's, and hopefully the rest of the weekend laying new flooring. lol Sounds good to me! Maybe I can get Jacky to grill some steak & chicken for dinner Sunday.

We have never made a big deal out of mothers/fathers day, so we probably won't do anything special. I can probably get dh to grill, though he does that several time a week anyway:) Or maybe we will go out for dinner Saturday. Our fav. resturaunt (and the closest one to us too) is Amish run and isn't open on Sunday, so Saturday will have to do:)

That sounds wonderful!

We're not doing anything for Mother's Day other than go to church. We're moving in with my mother two Saturdays after

That would probably be a little more "Mother time" than I could handle, Heather. LOL

It works for us My mom is my best friend and I love being around her. One of my biggest worries in life is her dying and how much I'd miss her.

Heather, I think it is super special to have a mama like that. *sigh* Mine appears to be getting there! Better late...than never!

My family is whispering all kinds of stuff to each other. I have no idea what to expect.

DH (and Rebecca?? Can a six month old really count in this??) got me a bouquet of roses! And... other than that, I assume it's business as usual this weekend. Church... sleep... that's about it. Unless his family is planning something. Last Mother's Day they invited us out like 15 minutes before they were wanting to eat. They're not really "plan ahead" people, and they drive me INSANE with it!
