I've decided that I'm going to go with a midwife at a birthing center this time around. I just hope I make it. I'm a weenie for pain!

But I went today and she confirmed that I'm 16ish weeks! The baby's heart rate was 150. Boy was I excited to hear it too! My first ultrasound is next tuesday to confirm the dates and all that. All in all, a great appointment!

WOW! You are really far along already!! That is so great. Congrats on choosing a midwife and birth center! You will do fine. Do lots of research on pain management and you will be fine.

Oh you are going to have a blast with your midwife an the care is so different and woman-centered. You can do the birth! BELIEVE ME! My two natural births (one a homebirth where I caught my baby, birthed my own placenta, cleaned up and got into bed) were nothing compared to what I have went through the past 2 weeks. NOTHING! It is really intense at the end, but at that point remember it is almost time!

LOL - how exactly did you skip the entire first trimester? You need to give out tips! LOL

Congrats on the decision to use a midwife. I so wish I had! And glad you heard the heartbeat. I know that was always the BEST feeling!

I guess I was in denial! LOL! the kids kept getting sick, and when I got sick I thought they gave me their cold. So, I definitely had symptoms, I just thought it was something else! Plus, my body responds very strongly to stress, so when I had a couple stressful months and I skipped AF, I thought it was no big deal...um, guess it was a big deal afterall!

It was so great to hear the heartbeat! I was so happy I almost cried! I can't wait to finally "see" that everything is okay by U/S next Tuesday!

I had horrible morning sickness with Eli and it was even worse with Remy...that many weeks couldn't have passed me by.

Enjoy it, sweetie.

I wish those first weeks would pass me by like that. I'm not so lucky. UGH! My stomach turns just thinking about it.

Congrats on hearing the HB. KUP!!

Watch the movie Business of Being Born. You'll want to stick with that midwife!!! I'm starting to look now for one and we're not even trying yet.

I had Caleb completely natural (not my plans though ) and I would do it that way again! The afterwards is night and day difference for the better and when it hurts so bad you can't take it anymore it's over. We'll keep you encouraged.
