Do you use them? I've never done them before, but I think I am going to this year. I think the older kids will appreciate them especially. I'm going to look online for some printable report cards.

Oh, and speaking of I made a blog post about our year a few weeks ago. In case you haven't been by in awhile, check it out. :-)

Today is our last day btw! We celebrated with a field trip yesterday and today I plan on making the report cards and certificates. :-)

Great blog post!!! I love how your preschooler's favourite subject is playdoh!

As for report cards, I still have young ones but I can totally see how it would be useful to your older kids. They will appreciate it and know that you are proud of the things they've accomplished.

I did make one for Eli in first grade...he didn't care. JM has a really neat report card printable.

I grade papers all year and then I do my big report for myself and add it to his folder at the end of the year. He doesn't really see grades other than to know he has to redo a paper that he rushed through.

YOUR last day! YAY! That is so sweet! Enjoy the summer!

My kids aren't interested in report cards.

I did report cards for my niece, because she was SO "I'm a straight-A student" oriented. I just designed my own because I couldn't find a template that I liked. We might do them just for a "record" type thing, and possibly so our kids have bragging rights along with their cousins, but I dunno. I kind of find it annoying to do them, lol.

We haven't done any either. And like Alison, I don't do any grades. If she gets something wrong, she redoes it. We don't have to keep these for records, though in order to do high school transcripts, we will give grades then:)

All 3 of my girls get a report card every nine weeks. They received them when they were in public school and asked if I would continue them when I started homeschooling. It is something that we choose to do. I have also started keeping a high school transcript for my oldest daughter. She has reached those high school homeschool years. Woo hoo! Enjoy your vacation. We still have a few weeks left, but are so ready for summer vacation.

Just to update: Like Allison, we correct as we go along, so my older daughter did get straight A's. She didn't believe it and said I just gave her all A's because I'm her Mom and I was just being nice. So maybe it wasn't so useful after all. :-)

My oldest appreciated it though. He does a few online classes that are more objective in their grading, so while his wasn't straight A's, he was glad to get the final report.
