That's got to be such a relief to know:) I can't imagine having to wait for someone to tell me it's fine to continue on.

I understand what you mean about accountability but I don't think I would like that. It would stress me out and make me feel like I couldn't educate my kids the way I wanted to do it.

Michigan is such a great state to homeschool in.

But I think it is great news that you got approved!

it's really not a big deal. They can't tell me what and when to teach.... I truly think more families need the accountability so like I said it totally doesn't bother me.,

That's great. We're not proving progress this year since we moved. In VA you get a one year probation if your kid doesn't score above the 24th percentile. Since we're not in VA anymore I figure they don't need CAT scores for the year. In MD you have to do portfolios, but they are no big deal. They pretty much just want to be sure you are actually teaching something. I haven't even gotten the form to submit for next year yet.

Yay!!

IF you don't mind me asking.... What do you put in the kids portfolios? Since i'm in MI we don't have to, But i'd like to.. Just a few samples of work? Or do you have requirements of what needs to be in it... (I've never done one before i'd have no idea where to start and what work to put in)
