Would a 97 version of the core 1 with sonlight be useable still? I would have to find the readers at the library but just wondering if this old of a version would still work out with the readers?

Thanks

Any version of the IG will work. It's always been a good curriculum. They just update it as books go out of print or they get good suggestions to improve it or whatever. You'd have to look at it and see what the books are that are required. They will likely have some different from what is offered now.

The IG update list from year to year can be found here: Instructor's Guide Update Chart : Sonlight Curriculum

Yes-that will work. I always slide my instructors guide into page protectors and use a sharpie to mark off the days. That way I can resell it and it's clean and crisp for the next family.

Just in case anyone sees this and is wondering the same thing, the answer is actually probably not. The IGs have changed enough in the last 11 years that a few of the books in 1997 Core 1 have been moved to Core 2 and others have moved to a different edition of the book or been gotten rid of altogether because they are out of print (making it much harder to find the books needed). Because of the move of certain books from Core 1 to 2 if someone was planning to do Core 2 after Core 1, they would either be repeating some things or have to find a 1997 edition of that as well. So while it would still be a good education, there would be a lot of practical issues that make it probably not a good idea to use.
