I have had a bump onthe outside of my ear for a month now (inside a groove where I cant see it). It has hurt bad, but I have always figured it was a spider bite. I react BAD to spider bites, and my last one was on my toe. My toe was purple for 6 months.

Well last night I woke up and my ear was all wet. I wiped it off and went to sleep. I woke up this morning and saw it was blood, now dried all over my ear.

I used a flashlight and mirrors to see the bump, and there are 2 purple infected bumps (one small and one big) in the ear groove. I popped both of them with a steralized needle to make an opening for disinfecting, and am now sitting here with tissue paper soaked in crushed garlic in my ear to kill the bacteria.

I guess the whole point of this post is to whine abut how much it hurts right now, as DH doesnt really understand. Garlic works as an antibiotic, but feels like acid on open wounds.

So yeah....I am not happy.

Ouch!! I'm sorry to hear that!! I hope it heals quickly and doesn't get worse.. Sounds like it ruptured due to pressure, hopefully that means the infection is being flushed out naturally!!

Well garlic is effective against staph. I got rid of a MRSA infection with garlic over a year ago.

Have you tried honey? It's antibacterial as well and probably is more soothing than the sting of the garlic...not to mention the smell lol.

I hope it gets better quickly.

How I use it for the skin is, Chop a clove up with a knife. Then use a spoon and crush it. Add 1/2 TSP of Xtra V olive oil, and crush it again till it looks like applesauce. Then take a piece of a tissue and rub it all in the garlic mush till its saturated (if it has small chunks on it thats fine) and then bandaid the tissue wad to the boo boo.

Yeah, it stinks (I just tell people I have been cooking LOL) but it works. I am doing it 2x a day, and keep it on an hour each time. And YES it stings, but no worse then the infection, or the side effects of antibiotics IMO.

Just a warning with garlic, dont apply it to the skin w/o the olive oil, because it can cause 2nd degree burns. The oil stops it from burning you, but still keeps it antibiotic properties. It is VERY effective against staph and MRSA.

I had MESA mastitis for 4 months after I had Hope and was VERY sick in the hospital for a week 3 different times. After high powered drugs wouldnt kick it, I chewed a clove of garlic 1x every day for a week and it was GONE. It also works with ear infections in kiddos too!

So far my ear stopped bleeding/oozing and the infection spots look like they are drying up.
