On JUST curriculum stuff... not memberships, etc. ... how much do you spend per year, per child? I had no idea, so I just added it up. This year, it was around $600, because I didn't know what I was doing and bought a lot of kindergarten stuff. From now on, it looks like it'll be around $400/yr, though (less for Daniel, because sci, hist, eng, health, latin, and spelling are reusable). The private school here (that would be our 2nd choice) is $10k/yr/child!! Ouch! I can only imagine what we could do if my homeschooling budget was $20k/yr! Even daycare around here is $700/mo/child. Certain things really "talk" to dh. He wasn't completely sold on homeschooling, but now that he's seen results, and now that he sees how cheap it is, I think he's hooked.
I'd say I'll spend an average of $500 / year. But we're only going into 2nd grade next year, so we'll see. Hopefully I can get by cheaper than that.
Yeah, I have considered a local Catholic school (pie in the sky stage, though, not really seriously). But I don't know how much it costs. Knowing that will probably bring me back to reality real quick. LOL
