If you have any kids who like to change the subject a lot, do you usually follow their lead, bring them back to the topic at hand, or a little of both?

We always go from one topic to another. All of us (DH, DS and myself) jump topics. Sometimes I get really bad and don't finish a sentience the whole day.

We have days like that, too. I think I fall somewhere in the middle. Sometimes he's the one getting off topic. Sometimes it's me. Sometimes I try to keep him on task. Depends on what it is.

Connor is notorious for going off topic. He's a curious kid who has to know the meanings of everything even why candy is named candy and other type things LOL.

So, I just answer and go back on topic.

See I hear Why before I open my eyes. Then one why leads to another and before long it's an hour passed bed and I'm still answering why from the first one. I've had to restrict his whys and talking to the general subject that we're on usually that only kinda helps. He'll have tons of strange knowledge when he grows up.
