My in-laws just opened a home school used/new curriculum store!!! It's the only store of it's kind in the entire area and they opened last week. They're carrying dozens of different curricula, books, and teaching implements. They also have a huge conference room they're allowing anyone to reserve and use for various classes, seminars, and co-ops---all for free!
I can't believe how amazing the timing of this has been. We only decided very recently to home school and had been planning on just purchasing the Abeka kit, without really doing much other looking around, so I've been able to actually pick up and look through dozens of different books. AND of course I get a family discount.
How cool is that?? This area is HUGE for home schooling, but there's never been an actual store before... Do any of you have local home school stores?
That's so cool! There's something in Killeen, but I don't think it's *only* for homeschooling. I think it's just a teacher store in general. I don't know of anything in the Austin area. If we had something, I know it would get lots of use.
