This is definitely something we'd consider for several reasons... early entrance (maturity), cost, moral values, etc. It would help the boys get through school faster and cheaper, but still be able to benefit from home life.

Havent thought about it. Not even sure if Ill homeschool through high school. Really depends on where we live.

If my kids want my help with college stuff then I will help them but for all I know they wont want to go. Cross that bridge when we get closer.

As of now..no.. I do see CLEPing our way thru a few classes..especially Declan if he keeps up the way he is.. I read one of the articles and since we do not homeschool for religious reasons i can't see any of his points being relevant to our lives. The cost effectiveness of some of it are huge bonuses but in the long run I do see all my kids in college.

It would really depend on what their end-goal was. If they needed pre-med to go into the medical field, then I'd be sending them to college. If they just want a general arts degree, or something they could easily obtain from home (no labs needed or anything like that) then we would definitely consider it. However, the final decision would be left up to them...

If he continues he will take Math, English, Science (for labs) and social studies online, clep, ap and on campus. However I will not count it as college but part of his high school curriculum and college transition. There's just way to many things to do to rush him out of high school. Now if he's 18 and he's not ready for college I'm not against him going on-line or something but I do want him to live in the dorms at least for a year. It also depends on if he wants his MBA.

If we do high school, I could see using CLEP to get out of a few classes. But I would encourage my children to go to an accredited university for a degree. Colleges may accept homeschoolers for admissions, but I don't think that employers would think of homeschool education for college as enough.
