Spending some much needed time as a family. I will be doing lots of laundry and packing to get ready for our trip in about a week.

If painting our paneled living room walls white is exciting.....then yes I'm not totally thrilled about doing this. We actually live in a home that belongs to my Aunt and it's her idea. I'm scared it's going to look horrid!

Have a great weekend everyone!

We painted paneling and it was fine..not perfect but fine. You just have to strip it first to avoid the paint not sticking good..

We have something called Gripper?? It's a primer/sealer and it says to sandpaper the walls first. I've never done something like this so I'm nervous! lol

We're going out of town to see dh's parents. They've got a few things lined up for us (museum, dinosaurs, children's theater play, etc.)

We talked about Memorial Day today in the car (because we had a LOT of running around to do this morning, so why waste the time? )

Gripper will be great.. what we used what a treater that just took off enough of the finish to allow the primer then paint to stick..it was easier than sandpaper..but sandpaper will work!

Im on pins and needles right now. DH is at the drs getting his CT scan results. They found a shadow on his chest xray last week so he's finding out if anything was found and if so what. Cancer is a concern as both his folks died from it relatively young.

So Im a wreck LOL. The rest of the weekend is planless. Im hoping to go walk around the mall and maybe the park but we shall see. A lot is riding on the findings cuz my hubby will be depressed/angry if its bad news.

Our church decorates the graves at the veteran's memorial cemetery with American flags, so dh and ds will do that Saturday, while dd goes to work with me. Tomorrow we're having my in-laws over for a cook-out, then Monday we're just going to relax.

We won't be homeschooling on Monday. We observe Memorial day as a family. My hubby's parents both served in the military (his Mom and Dad were in the Army). DH's mom passed away when he was four (in 1972) and we lost my FIL in 2003 to cancer.

We plan on having a cookout for dinner and watching some family home movies to remember them.
