I'm on a 3 term schedule (summer, fall, and spring). We "finished" the summer term already (6 weeks starting in May), but we're still doing little things here and there to keep him occupied ("Moooooooooom, can we do schooooooooool todaaaaaaaaa?" ) We're also filling the summer with camps and such. The Fall term will start Aug 16th (because VBS is the week before) and finish in Decy. We'll take a couple weeks off and start the spring term on Jan 3, finishing in early May.
I use whatever schedule works for our family. That usually correlates pretty well to PS, but for example, spring break is usually different because (1) I like to avoid crowds and (2) I like to take a break when my parents do (college campus in AR), so we can spend time with them.
We started the last Monday of June. I'm expecting a baby in September so I wanted to get a head start and give us plenty of wiggle room. Besides the baby arriving we will no doubt have days off here and there but I don't have any large breaks planned ahead of time. Generally speaking, if DH is at work, we're doing school.
I am starting August 9th. Will finish up the end of April/first of May.... They already have 3 days scheduled off for the first week of September. I give them 2 weeks at Christmas. I am starting getting my books ready and will start planning the first month next week
stay at home, homeschooling momma to Jacob(12), Alisha(10), Andrew (5)
We will probably start the first week of September. My older kids will be back in school (p.s.) by then and I will also be starting back to school that week. But we should be able to squeeze in some homeschool time too.
I'm still not sure how I'm going to juggle all of this!
Earthy-Birthy Tree-hugging Mama to 5 (6 for now) great kids:
SciGuy,14 Butterfly Girl,12 Wyldchild,7 FlowerFairy,5 and Babybird,3
We will most likely start after labor day. We are behind due to all the moving around we did (moved fro NC to OR and then to VA in a 3 month period!) so we are still finishing up this year. I am working them hard so we get done this month.
