So I have picked Aug 29th for our 1st 'official' day of PreK. That gives me 2 weeks from now.
I have all the workbooks I need for the whole year and lots of printouts and project plans, but I feel a little scared all the sudden. I also know I plan on using Letter of the Week curriculum and have most of that ready. We have been doing school work for the last year on a random schedule and Thea loves it, but I guess I am feeling the pressure now that I am making it more structured. Plus I really think that she is smart for her age, so it will make it even better for her to be homeschooled. I remeber being SO bored in school.
I need a mantra,..... I CAN DO THIS. I CAN DO THIS. I WILL BE A GOOD TEACHER FOR MY DAUGHTER.
You'll be fine, like others have said remember it's preschool it should be fun. The one thing I've learned with homeschooling is it is so rewarding to see your kids learn. Also it's fun to see them stay kids longer than if they went to a ps.
For pre-k this past year I wanted her to play. When she would ask to do "schoolwork" I would do some worksheets or art projects. Try not to get too serious b/c they will be in school forever and then off to work. GL!
you will be fine! I choose the first of July as our "official" first day and about mid July wondered if I was ever going to get my rear in gear to start "school" with the girls... then all of a sudden (one random day in the beginning of August) I realized "hey, I really have been doing "school" all along! It may not look like you think it will, but it will just fall in place as it is supposed to be
