Any lurkers out there who are just starting their HS journey?
Anyone who is curious about HS but hasn't decided yet?
Anyone who plans to HS but has very young children?
Say hello!

I'm a lurker with a younger daughter (almost 2) and will be homeschooling when she starts preschool (around 3). I have answered a few math questions from my previous life as a public school math teacher. I've learned plenty from my lurking here. Thanks ladies!

I'm lurking too! I have been on the fence and off the fence about homeschooling - as has DH - and we've finally decided to try it for 2 years and see how it goes. As a compromise to DH we are using a curriculum despite my son being only 3.5 but I'm okay with that if it means we can home educate.
Santa will be bringing our curriculum and we plan to begin in January

I lurk, but you knew that. And I fit into none of the above. I'm actually wondering if I'll ever get to homeschool. We're talking about fostering and I'm not sure the state would let us.

Hi. I'm still lurking in here occasionally just 'cause I kinda miss you guys and wonder how things are going.
Overall, Ellie's doing really well in private school but I still have days where I think homeschooling was a much better idea. I've commited to keeping her in school for at least the rest of this year. But who knows? Maybe I'll be posting in here again next year.

Good to see you again. I'm glad things are going well in private school!
Augie - have you gone to any interest meetings for fostering yet? They could probably tell you, but yeah, HS'ing is probably a no-go.

Not yet. Classes start Jan 7th. We've done the initial meeting, application, and are working on getting things taken care of at home. (Setting up the room and a couple of safety things.)

I am starting to lurk although I might start posting. I posted for a short time, maybe a year ago, when we were trying to decided if we were going to homeschool DS for preschool (since we are Buddhist and the only preschools around here are Christian). We are not only homeschooling preschool but we are going to homeschool all the way through school now. I am a public school teacher and after the years of watching education decline, no matter how hard we teachers work and fight, I decided it's not good enough for my children. I am quitting my teaching job after this baby is born and once we are into a new routine with the baby we are starting DS's homeschool preschool.
In the meantime I have been designing a curriculum from worksheets, coloring sheet, crafts and science experiments I have found online. I am not sure what we will do as far as curriculum once DS is in kindergarten.

I have a teen in public High School and hate it. I also have 3 under three all born after the sept 1st cut off. Scarlett my thrre year old I am working through the letter sounds of "How to teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons" we are at about at lesson 30ish we do lesson multiple times.
I am planning to start our school years Jan 1st each year, that way the kids have all had their birthdays. My two youngest are 13 months apart an I plan to start them together wheb my son is six and my daughter is 5. I think him bring older will help, but as it is he is pretty patient but I am trying to figure what he;ll be like in 5 years!
My husband and I are 110% set on homeschooling.
Auggie the state of AZ hated my kids being homeschooled even after their adoption was complete!

I lurk. My DD is 3.5 and we plan to homeschool. Right now, we mostly read books, draw letters, count items around here, etc. I plan to start short, daily "preschool" activities next fall when she's 4. I bookmark a LOT of things you ladies talk about, and I imagine I'll be more active here when I really delve into schooling.

I've lurked on and off for a couple years, as I haven't been ready to start "official" schooling. We've always been dead set on homeschooling. Now that Kailey is 5, my instincts just tell me that's she's ready to start, so here I am gathering more info
