Am I the only one that has the winter burnout? We just had our week break, and I am still in burnout mode...
I am trying to get out of my funk by looking on Pinterest for some new ideas to change it up a little.
I have been pretty quiet on here too
stay at home, homeschooling momma to Jacob(12), Alisha(10), Andrew (5)
My burnout usually comes around Thanksgiving. By then, we've already been working since August, and then we have several holiday/birthday dates back to back in my family, so getting school work done is nearly impossible anyway. Right now, I'm totally in school mode!
*rub, rub, rub*
There, I'm rubbing off some of my school mode magic dust onto you.
I'm on lack of winter burnout, actually. As in, we've not really had a winter, and it kinda sucks.(I know, weird thing to complain about, huh)
But that has nothing at all to do with school
We ran out of stuff to do in some of our subjects a couple weeks ago, so I'm adding in new stuff here and there, and that can be a pain sometimes when I'm not real sure where to go from...wherever it is I am. Eventually I get to it though. Bored mode can be a bad, bad thing, sometimes.
We do get into burnout mode here, and there, sometimes. Usually that's when we need to take a break, or lighten the load, though, not the other way around.
With the pretty much lack of winter(you're in the same state I am, lol), maybe you can incorporate more outdoors time with your lessons? Or, something along those lines. Even just getting out of the house maybe, to find other activities to explore, might help.
I am on major burn out. Too much going on here with everyone and their health. We are concerned that Matthew has gotten the same stomach issues as DH. I took him to Dr Friday and we did a blood test and it came back that we need to repeat this week on Friday and of course he has something on top of it with a 102 fever. Sarah and Whit have both been sick and Sarah is on her third round of antibiotics.
I'm so sorry your kiddos are all sick. That's such a pain, even when it's just one, but more than one and you've got a lot to handle. I hope they're all feeling much better soon.
We've been fighting off a cold almost non-stop for a few months here. It's just going back and forth. Just when I thought it was gone, it came back. Except I'm fairly certain this one, came from my ortho dr's office. I was there last week for an MRI, place was packed with snifflin people, and a couple days later, bam. I'm not happy. I have to go back tomorrow too(hopefully getting my cast off, and a brace instead, we'll see). Now Lex has my cold too. The other two are fine, but it's only a matter of time, I'm sure.
This is another part of why I do not like when Winter doesn't appear. It sounds strange, but playing outside in the frigid temps, tends to keep the bugs at bay, and it doesn't trigger allergies(which make colds and whatever other bugs like ten times worse, lol). I swear the air is fresher in the winter, well sometimes, lol. This wishy washy weather, does not help things any, and storms bring the allergens out like crazy(it's storming here right now, lol). Allergies are going all over the place.
