Matthew has been sick for a while now but on Saturday he woke with 104.2 fever and would not go down. Called dr and was told to head to er. They checked for strep which was negative. They got his fever down and sent us home. Fever continued all weekend and still this morning. Dr couldnt figure out his symptoms but noticed streaking on his tonsils and decided to test for mono and he was going to try to figure out what else he should be checking for. Turns out he does have mono of all things!! So looks like he will have this fever for a bit longer. :-( He looks awful. I had to carry him in and out from dr as he gets dizzy when he is up.
Poor little guy, I know this is late so I hope he is feeling better by now! Addi somehow ended up with mono right after she turned two. Her pedi said that it's more common than we think, even in kids that don't go to daycare, just a lot of the time it isn't caught because parents think it is a cold.
