You'll want to start here: http://www.hslda.org/laws/analysis/Arizona.pdf

Do you ladies like home schooling? Love it!

Do you find it affective? Absolutely!

Would you ever put your child into public school system after experiencing home school? Never say never, but I think I can safely say no. We even have homeschooling specifications written in the guardian instructions part of our wills.

Do you have groups in your area that get together weekly / monthly or at all? Tons of groups, and tons of TYPES of groups. They meet at all different intervals, regularly and not-so-regularly.

Here are some groups for you to look into: Arizona Homeschool Groups, Events, & Activities

(... and of course...)

WELCOME to the homeschooling board! We have other members here with no children or very young children, so feel free to post all you want. It's not too early to start thinking about what you'll do as your child(ren) grows up!

Welcome!!!

Do you ladies like home schooling? Yep!

Do you find it affective? Without a doubt!

Would you ever put your child into public school system after experiencing home school? The public schools around here no way, I would consuder one of the private schools though.

Do you have groups in your area that get together weekly / monthly or at all? We have monthly get togethers, there are weekly playgroups, field trips, 4H.....

Hi there
This board is a great place for info, tons of links and generally a great group of people to ask just about anything, lol.

Do you ladies like home schooling? I love it, as do my kids
Do you find it affective? Extremely. Much better than the schools they were in.
Would you ever put your child into public school system after experiencing home school? Not here. My kids used to attend public school. But it sucked, did them absolutely no good and drew them further back academically than they ought to be. We are ALL happy they are out of there. I'm not entirely opposed to public, or any, school. But I know there aren't any anywhere near me that I would trust with the education of my children. They're just not up to par. My youngest is 8. When I pulled him out of school in December 2010, he could not read. His school said they'd put him in Title 1(reading class, and it's required by the state here so not like they were doing him a favor), but it would not begin until the end of April. Basically they were telling me, they'd fail him. That, coupled with everything else, was the straw. So out they came. Now, all three are well above grade level. Even ds is now above grade level in Reading. They absolutely LOVE being at home, in a comfortable environment, able to learn at a pace THEY set. It's perfect.
Do you have groups in your area that get together weekly / monthly or at all? Nope. There are a couple here, that have little get togethers here and there, but they cost money that I don't have. There is nothing free here. I'm not in any groups or anything like that. There is a huge amount of people who homeschool here but you're not likely to run across them often. We do meet them a couple times a year during testing though, haha. In fact we have state testing the week of the 23rd and we'll see most of them then.

Do you ladies like home schooling? We just started not long ago, but so far we love it!
Do you find it affective? Yes! My children have surprised me with how much they've learned already!
Would you ever put your child into public school system after experiencing home school? In my area, no. If we moved to an area with better schools, and my children wanted to, then maybe.
Do you have groups in your area that get together weekly / monthly or at all? Not near me, no, homeschoolers are few and far between here.

Do you find it affective? Very, it's amazing how much more mine are learning at home.
Would you ever put your child into public school system after experiencing home school? Nowhere in the near future at least around here. I might consider the private schools in this area, but they are VERY expensive...Miles was in public school until 2nd grade here and it was HORRIBLE. They basically ruined his self esteem. I wish I had never done it with him. My other two will be homeschooled from the beginning, we are actually starting K with my other son this fall.
Do you have groups in your area that get together weekly / monthly or at all? There are not a lot of homeschoolers in our area at all, but there are a few and we are trying to do some get togethers here. I am going to start going to one that is a bit bigger a couple towns over from us to see if we like it there.
