We've already finished up a couple of things, and we're dove-tailing into a very short summer term. We'll completely finish in mid-June, take July off, and then start back in mid-Aug after VBS is over.

We don't have a set date, it just depends on when we are done. We took a long break this spring though so I think we might be going all Summer.

It's been a pretty informal year and additionally, we basically do core subjects year round. Mentally, I do need a point of "new beginning" so I will be counting this year "over" as soon as we complete the history book we're reading, will take some to do things a little differently or to do some different things, and then start the new content subjects somewhere in July or August.

Well it would normally be June 7/8th, but, at the rate we're going it will be in less than 3 weeks. Roughly 2 weeks from now we'll have all curriculum completed, including supplemented stuff.

We take the whole summer off.

We actually just started new stuff and are counting this as our "beginning" and then are going to start doing year round with more frequent breaks. I think this will be better with my kids, the structure is so good for them, plus the summer here is so hot sometimes and it's nicer in say September and such so I think it will be better to have more time off then!

usually it is the beginning of May, but this year we are going until the end of June. We didn't start until the end of September...
we will take July off and start our new year the second week of August

We have been doing more of an unschooling approach right now and not doing any formal school work at the moment because the kids were so stressed out every time we started working on anything (I think from everything they were dealing with in public school). We are just taking it really laid back until September and then we will start again and probably go year round other than the 7 weeks they are with their father each year so that we can allow for more frequent breaks throughout the year.

We've decided to take a more year-round schooling approach, especially this year because we're going to take a couple of weeks off when baby arrives in September, and we're considering a cross- country move, so we would have to take a break then too. My oldest visits her father for two separate weeks every summer, so we will have short breaks then too, and probably a couple of breaks for camping trips

We do school year round. This summer we won't be doing school exactly as usual because my sister and nephew will be staying with us for 6 or 7 weeks, though.

We do year round but I am telling her that she is done with first grade at the end of May. Her work is mostly second and third grade so we will keep working on that level this summer. But we will be mostly reading, reviewing math and doing some writing. We are going to start second grade the day after Labor Day.

I began "officially" homeschooling about June-ish last year and then around September went into unschooling mode so.... humm.... LOL I think for now anyway our "end" will be around June and then will begin right on the next year. I like the idea of year round scheduling with breaks when you need them, so we will probably stick with that even as our methods change.

We end when the public schools end (the last week of June) - mainly because my older dd happens to be in public school. Ds starts summer day camp around the same time, anyway. We do pick up the new year earlier than the schools, though - usually in late August.

We took a very long break this Spring due to unforeseen circumstances, so we will, be schooling over the summer. We will take a short break in August before we start our new homeschool year.
