I have been considering Sonlight for a long time now and never have taken the plunge. I am really really thinking we may try it next year. We are pretty set for this year so will not do it this year. I worry though that we will not have time for it. Can anyone tell me if it was a lot to get in each day? I have a 17mth old as well so its hard to fit everything in each day. I love that its literature based and feel it may hold my kids interest better than what we are doing now. We are doing MFW right now. We like it but I think it could be better.

Sonlight is very expensive but I have heard such wonderful things about it and have looked at it every year.

Opinions would be great especially from those that have used it before.

It takes a few hours a day and is very parent intensive simply because of all the read alouds. We used it three years. In the end, it was not a success here.

The parent guide alone is overwhelming. I think if you gave yourself all summer to really become acquainted with it, and if you're sure that style would be a good fit, you could work out a way to fit it all in (because the 17 mo old would be a year older, too... which may or may not be too much to handle with a 2.5 y/o). With regular naptimes from the little one, you could make it work. It's certainly possible, or else they wouldn't still be a booming business, right? Someone has made it work. Perhaps you could try to find as much as possible used, so if it's not a good fit, you're not out so much money?
