I am still supervised during prenatals...although this week she did walk out of the room during part of each one. I think she is getting me used to being on my own for that part. I feel pretty confident with prenatals. The big thing is for a while I could find the heart tones so easy and now the past two weeks I need help each time. URGH! Drives me nuts! But I have a super teacher.
I did buy my very own doppler today. So I can use mine instead of hers. Getting all the things I need and using my stuff makes me feel more like I am doing this. I love it.
I haven't started catching yet. That is a ways off. I am still getting the assistant part down and caring for baby after birth.
I will finish in 1-2 years. Depends on money and the amount of clients we have. I have to get in my birth numbers and that depends on the amount of ladies we serve.
It can take each midwife different amounts of time to finish. Some do it in 2 years. Some take 3 and others take much longer. It depends on the state, her money statis, and her preceptor.
"I am a midwife. It is not just what I do, it is what I am, and I grow in it."
