Lets take a stand!

Things need to change!

Chidlren are acting out of control and i thin its the media's fault. See if it everyday while i'm volunteering at the boys and girls club.

Does anybody else see this? What can be done?

Something NEEDS to be done

we're not in kansas anymore!

I guess it's up to their parents. Although the media should be held to a higher standard when it comes to what shows they put on and what commercials they show during children's viewing times. We buy a lot of dvd's and watch ABC Kids tv which is adds free. That's the Gvt run TV channel over here. (Australian broadcasting comition)

Just adding last Sat I put the commercial channel on as my friend had said Dora the explorer was on (I was 1/2 hour too late at 7.30 in the morning! heck what time does it start? ) I could hardly believe the total rubbish cartoons they showed which were constantly interrupted for inane commercials on Barbie and other toys I don't wish my kids to have or want. I must have gotten up half a dozen times to flip channels and in the end turned it off in disgust!

Parents really are responsible in the end. Just throw out the TV. It's not so bad really

While the media and television and movies aren't doing anything to help with the state of kids today, I agree that it's the parents responsibility to keep their child under control. I choose what they can and cannot watch, so I can't be mad at the television stations for putting crap on t.v. I can, however, choose not to watch it or to have my children watch it.

I think so too

We need to stand up and show that its not acceptable that the media shows such programming content.

Maybe we can change the state of Television by taking a stand?

Maybe its just the activist in me coming out

We got a tivo because we were sick of the same things (so i gather).

we got the idea from suggestions on here and other boards that we visit

You should check it out, its really cool. Block stuff you want blocked. You can use guides to help find programs that you might find acceptable

I haven't had it for a long time, but i love it so far.

good luck
