I was curious as to whether or not anyone has home schooled a learning diabled child?

How did they pass competenacy tests?

My 13 year step son is going into 7th grade and has a 3rd grade reading level. So far public school has let him down. My husband and I just got custody of him in 2005 and didn't realize how far he is behind.

Any suggestions?

Yes, you should definitely PM Teresa! Her screen name is wannabesupermom, and she's one of the owners of JM, so she should be fairly easy to find! In fact, I'm sure you could find her name within the last 20 posts or so on this board.
