My youngest daughter is wanting to start typing up her own stories using word on the computer. This was a huge source of frustration for me because I would be working on the other computer beside her and she would be forever asking me how to spell certain words or I would be assisting her in sounding them out. Finally, I just decided to show her how to do her own individual words spell check.
In word, when you spell a word incorrectly, it gets a red wiggly line underneath the word. If you right mouse click on it, a word list of possible matches for the word you are trying to spell will pop up and then you can select the correct word.
This is great for her because she is trying to spell on her own and if she gets it wrong, she is matching the correct word by reading the list.
She loves it and she is getting a no mommy involved spelling lesson!
AWESOME! When I do spell check I just use the F7 button, but that checks the whole page not just a single word. i didn't know you could check a single word without highlighting it and then using F7, thanx for the tip!
