...and anyone else who might be starting school today!!!!!!!!!
Going into day three here. Yesterday went really well...better than day one, probably. No issues with cutting up during Social Studies and Science...thanks to Jeff . I hope I can stay disciplined to get up early and get started. I know that so much of how the day goes depends on my organization and discipline. I pray that I can keep it for their sakes...and mine.
Have a great day everyone.

Awww, thanks!
We're taking a break for lunch right now and then we're going back to do a little more reading and math after lunch. Then we're going to make...(drumroll, please!)....GUM! I got a "Make Your Own Gum" kit from LovetoLearn.com and I thought that would be a "memorable" first day of school thing.
Hope everything is going well for everyone else!

HI! I did't fall off the face of the earth, I just wasn't able to get back here yesterday!
The gum turned out AWESOME!!! I'm going to post a whole entry on my blog about it because I took lots of pictures.
I would HIGHLY recommend the kit because it came with everything that we needed and we were able to do the "cooking" part in the microwave (you have to heat up the chicle, which is the actual "gum" part of the gum) PLUS, it came with a little leaflet about how chicle was the original ingredient in gum and how they have to go up in the trees and get it...it was very interesting! Science and social studies all rolled into one! I think I'm going to look at the library to see if there are any videos or books we could get to learn a little more about gum.
We had school until 2:30 yesterday, but it only took so long because of the lunch break and then the gum activity, which probably took 30 minutes to complete. I imagine that the rest of the days might be a little shorter, so you don't need to feel like such a huge slacker, Shery! (Tee hee!)
Anyway, I'll get that blog entry in sometime today so y'all can come and visit and see my pictures!
